The notion of beauty is subjective, but it is even more so depending on the country and the culture. With the project "Perceptions of Perfection", a woman had perfectly illustrated the different perceptions of "ideal beauty" by having her photo retouched in 18 countries.
The question of the ideal morphology of a woman gives rise to a long-term debate.
While Spanish and Colombian women come closer in their ideas, in Venezuela and Peru, we prefer a busty silhouette in "bustier". In Argentina, however, we opt for a slimmer woman.
In the United Kingdom, the silhouette becomes more slender. In Italy, the forms are forgotten: the woman is ultra slim and full of legs. Just like in China. In the Philippines, the ideal woman should focus on the hips and chest. The hips are also very popular in Egypt, while in South Africa, the representation appears more slender. This means that we have to understand the standards of beauty around the world and how pressure is exerted to varying degrees in regions of the world.
Taking the example of the breasts, the Brazilian woman prefers small breasts and plump buttocks. In Africa, women prefer rather generous or even excessive forms and Europeans remain on the cult of extreme thinness.
In conclusion: cultivate your difference, be fit, avoid excess!
