Edema may occur and cause asymmetry. It will resolve fairly quickly, generally in 1 to 3 days depending on the person and the concentration of hyaluronic acid injected.
However, if the lips have been injected with hyaluronic acid, the resulting oedema can sometimes last up to a week.
In some people, small bruises on the treated areas, redness and even itching may also appear. They will disappear in just a few days.
